Eight Patriots players miss practice with illness

A few days after playing the Dallas Cowboys, who experienced a widespread illness in the locker room, the chilly and rainy weather in Massachusetts has now delivered a similar bug to the New England Patriots.

The Patriots had to withhold eight players from practice on Wednesday as they deal with an illness that is reportedly spreading in the locker room. As a result, defensive starters Patrick Chung, Jamie Collins, Dont’a Hightower and Stephon Gilmore missed practice.

While this time of year is obviously known for the cold spreading around, facing an opponent in Week 12 who had a wide-spread illness in chilly temperatures and pouring rain only made everyone more susceptible to the sickness.

Fortunately, it appears quarterback Tom Brady has avoided the sickness to this point. Hopefully, with rest and treatment, everyone involved improves and it doesn’t spread further among the players.
