Eagles re-sign RB Darren Sproles, per report

The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back one of the longest-tenured running backs in the NFL.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Philadelphia is re-signing running back Darren Sproles to a one-year contract.

Sproles, 36, has played each of the past five seasons with the Eagles. Last year saw him record 280 total yards in six games. He’s been limited to nine games over the past two seasons to injury.

Interestingly enough, the running back had previously announced his intention to retire following the 2018 season.

Sproles could fill in as a third-down back behind Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders. He also has extensive experience as a return man.
