Dwight Howard who said recently that he and some other former NBA players could fix the Detroit Pistons from their losing streak, has signed to play with a team from the Philippines.

Howard has signed with Filipino team Super Group to play in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, Shams Charania of Stadium reported.

The Dubai International Basketball Championship is Jan. 19-28, giving Howard a couple weeks to play as he continues to seek an NBA comeback.

The 38-year-old Howard last played in the 2021-22 NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game for the Lakers.

In a post on X right after Christmas, Howard said that he, and other former players would stop the Pistons losing streak, which eventually got to 28 consecutive games.

Howard named John Wall, who played in 34 games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season, DeMarcus Cousins, who played 31 games for the Denver Nuggets in 2021-22, Michael Beasley, who hasn’t played since 2019 and Isaiah Thomas, who played in 17 games for the Charlotte Hornets in 2021-22 as the players he could bring to Detroit and “win them some games.”
