Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Dwayne Haskins is looking to resurrect a fledgling career after the former first-round pick bombed out in two seasons with the Washington Football Team.
Haskins, 24, is now finding himself in the news for all the wrong reasons.
According to a local CBS News affiliate in Las Vegas, Haskins’ wife was arrested by authorities in the desert metropolis after allegedly getting into an argument with the quarterback inside their hotel room at The Cosmopolitan.
“Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, 23, is accused of knocking out one of his teeth when she punched him after a disagreement, according to an arrest report obtained by the I-Team. A piece of his tooth was found on the floor of a room at The Cosmopolitan,” the report read.
The alleged incident between Dwayne Haskins and his wife took place during the holiday weekend back on July 3. Gondrezick-Haskins has been charged with domestic battery. For his part, the signal caller told Metro police officers in Vegas that the two had been involved in “verbal arguments” in the past, but “nothing physical.”
A first-round pick of Washington back in 2019, Dwayne Haskins started 13 games for the team before being let go about midway through the 2020 campaign. He threw just 12 touchdowns against 14 interceptions in the process, showing a lack of maturity, both on and off the field.
