Duke, Kansas suspend all athletic activities indefinitely due to coronavirus

Duke, coronavirus

Duke University and the University of Kansas announced on Thursday that they are suspending all athletic activities indefinitely out of precaution with the ongoing spread of the coronavirus.

The Blue Devils’ men’s basketball team is currently ranked No. 10 in the country and would have been set to compete in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. While the NCAA previously announced it would hold the tournament without fans, the decision by both programs may foreshadow a complete cancelation of the sport’s biggest event.

Kansas’ men’s basketball team currently ranks No. 1 in the country and was expected to have the top seed in the NCAA Tournament.
