Dolphins RB’ Knowshon Moreno out with Torn ACL

When the Miami Dolphins signed Knowshon Moreno away from the Denver Broncos in the offseason, they figured he would help improve what had been an inconsistent running game.

The former first-round pick had just put up over 1,500 total yards and 13 touchdowns for the Broncos the season prior.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, it just hasn’t panned out.

The team announced on Tuesday that it has placed Moreno on injured reserve with a torn ACL that he suffered against the Green Bay Packers this past weekend.

The running back finishes the season with just 148 yards on 31 attempts.

Moreno missed a nice part of training camp and all of Miami’s offseason activities with a knee injury. After getting back into playing shape and putting up 134 yards in a win against the New England Patriots in Week 1, Moreno suffered a separated shoulder the following week.

He returned from that injury against Green Bay this past Sunday, only to suffer the torn ACL.

With Moreno now sidelined for the remainder of the year, Lamar Miller will continue to get a bulk of Miami’s rush attempts. He has had a pretty good season thus far, putting up an average of over 5.2 yards per attempt.
