Denver Nuggets fans mock Los Angeles Lakers with ‘who’s your daddy’ chants during win

The Denver Nuggets and their fans were in a celebratory mood throughout Tuesday night as the defending NBA champion opened the season at home against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It started with players getting some awesome hardware prior to the matchup. During the game, it was all Nuggets as the home team came out on top by the score of 119-107.

Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double (29 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists). Anthony Davis did not score a single point in the second half.

As Denver was running away with this one late in the fourth quarter, fans inside Ball Arena found time to absolutely troll the Lakers. It was not subtle. Pretty much the entire arena got boisterous with “who’s your daddy” chants.

There is obviously a major backstory to this troll job. It was during the Denver Nuggets championship parade that team broadcaster Vic Lombardi introduced head coach Michael Malone as the Lakers’ daddy. The scene was pretty darn epic.

The entire summer represented some sort of back-and-forth between the Nuggets and Los Angeles after the now-defending champs swept the Lakers out of the Western Conference Finals.

As the scene was playing out inside Ball Arena, LeBron James and Co. could be seen headed directly to the locker room. There was no exchanging of pleasantries between the two sides.

The NBA of petty is alive and well just one game into the 2023-24 season. Enjoy it.
