Denver Nuggets fear P.J. Dozier (ACL) lost for season

The Denver Nuggets are bracing for life without rotation guard P.J. Dozier, who is expected to be lost for the season with a torn ACL, ESPN and The Denver Post reported Wednesday.

Dozier, 25, was injured in Tuesday night’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Dozier landed awkwardly after a collision at the rim in the first quarter and had to be carried off by teammates.

It’s another blow to the injury riddled Nuggets, still waiting on Jamal Murray’s return from an ACL injury and dealing with Michael Porter Jr.’s lower back issues. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic has missed the past three games with a wrist injury.

Dozier is averaging 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 18.9 minutes off the bench. He’s played in all 18 games. He averages 6.4 points for his career in five seasons with three teams. He’s in his third season with Denver.
