Denver Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb underwent ankle surgery earlier this week and is expected to be ready for training camp, 9News of Denver reported on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Pro Bowler missed the final two games of the season due to an injury to the same ankle. This week’s procedure was a cleanup surgery, according to the report.
Chubb had 42 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 14 games last season while earning his first career Pro Bowl selection.
Denver recently picked up Chubb’s fifth-year option, guaranteeing him $12.716 million in base salary for 2022.
Chubb was the fifth overall selection in the 2018 draft by the Broncos and he arrived in a big way with 12 sacks to break Von Miller’s franchise rookie record of 11.5 in 2011.
But his 2019 season was cut short after four games when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.
Overall, Chubb has 123 tackles, 20.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 34 career games (all starts).
