DeMarcus Cousins vows to overcome Achilles injury in passionate message

DeMarcus Cousins suffered a brutal Achilles injury and is out for the year. It was a stunning development that has the New Orleans Pelicans scrambling, not to mention the difficult circumstance it now presents to Cousins himself.

On Tuesday, the All-Star center sent a message out to his fans, vowing to overcome it.

“No lie this sh** sucks! I’ve never experienced an injury of this magnitude in my life, but with that being said nothing I’ve earned has ever come easy for me either! I’ve only gotten it the hard way and I don’t expect things to change for me now,” Cousins wrote on Twitter. “I’ll continue to overcome this as well and continue to prove.”

Cousins also went out of his way to thank his fans.

“I want to thank everyone for all the love, prayers, and positive energy sent my way. You are greatly appreciated! I’m also asking my supporters to join me on this journey back to playing the game I love. See you soon. #The Resurgence”

We look forward to seeing Boogie out there on the court, hopefully sooner rather than later. Achilles injuries aren’t as devastating as they used to be, but even with modern science and world-class trainers at his disposal, Cousins has a long road back.
