Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray returns in Week 12 after getting a much-needed and hopefully restful bye week.
With almost 50 touches and 300 yards more than his second-best competition, Murray proclaimed he is ready to carry a full load the rest of the season. Sharing his comments with ESPN Dallas, Murray had this to say (h/t NFL.com).
I’m ready. Like I’ve said before, whatever they ask me to do I’m going to do it times 10. It’s going to be an exciting next couple of weeks for us.
Also telling reporters that his bye week left him feeling “recharged”, Murray will go up against the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles over the next two weeks.
Sitting on top of the NFC East along with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas certainly won’t abandon the ground attack that has served it so well this season. However, Murray’s ability to remain healthy will be a key factor closing up the 2014 season. Over the course of his career, Murray has yet to play a 16-game season since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2011.
We’ll see if 2014 breaks that streak.
