Texas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields sprinted around the basepaths throughout May, racing to an American League Rookie of the Month honor.

The 22-year-old racked up 22 runs and 10 stolen bases, getting caught just once. DeShields swiped three bags during a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on May 7.
DeShields posted a .296 batting average, tallying four doubles, two triples and nine RBI. DeShields walked 15 times compared to 19 strikeouts.
He committed just one error in 59 total chances in center field, left field and second base, recording a .983 fielding percentage according to Baseball-Reference.com.
DeShields beat out, among others, Rangers relief pitcher Keone Kela and Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Devon Travis for the award.
