Dan Straily suspended five games, Don Mattingly gets one game

After Tuesday night’s incident in San Francisco, Miami Marlins pitcher Dan Straily was suspended five games for throwing at San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey.

In the second inning of Tuesday’s game, Giants pitcher Dereck Rodriguez hit Marlisn outfielder Lewis Brinson with a pitch.

Warnings were issued to both teams then in the bottom of the inning, Straily drilled Posey with a 91-mph fastball on the first pitch of the at-bat.

He was immediately ejected from the game along with Marlins manager Don Mattingly, who received a one-game suspension from MLB.

According to Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald, neither Rodriguez or Giants manger Bruce Bochy was suspended.
