Dan Quinn Recants Statement that Atlanta Falcons Have Room For Herschel Walker

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn may have sounded a bit too convincing when he recently claimed that the team had room for 53-year-old former NFL running back Herschel Walker.

Clarifying his comments regarding Walker, Quinn explained himself:

“Look, what I said about Herschel being one of my all-time favorite players is true,” Quinn said, via ESPN.com, “But nobody should take seriously what I said about having room on the team for him.”

Quinn further expressed the faith the Falcons have in their current crop of running backs:

“I love the running backs we have on our roster. We had a great offseason, and I’m excited about going into training camp with that group.”

Walker has been known to periodically mention how great of shape he is in and that he could still play football. Hopefully, Walker did not get too excited when he heard Quinn’s response to his latest proclamation.

At the age of 53, it is not likely the running back will ever make a return to the NFL no matter how often he brings the subject to light.
