Already short-handed on the offensive line, the Dallas Cowboys will be without backup tackle Ty Nsekhe on Sunday following his hospitalization for heat illness.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Nsekhe started showing symptoms after practice Thursday and was transported to the hospital.
“Our medical staff felt it was best that he spent the evening in the hospital,” McCarthy said Friday.
Nsekhe, 35, was released on Friday but won’t make the trip to Los Angeles for the Week 2 clash with the Chargers.
“Any time you’re dealing with heat issues, it’s never comfortable,” McCarthy said. “Even when an individual needs to get an IV, being dehydrated is an uncomfortable feeling. You have guys that maybe cramped after a hot practice like that. It’s never a comfortable feeling.”
The Cowboys had a full outdoor practice, in pads, on Thursday. The temperature hit 91 degrees.

Nsekhe is in his first season with Dallas. He has played in 82 games (17 starts) with four teams since 2012.
The Cowboys are playing without starting right tackle La’el Collins as he serves a six-game suspension.
