Crazy stat illustrates UCLA’s failure in opener against TAMU

UCLA defense was awful against Texas A&M

UCLA’s season opener against Texas A&M did not go according to plan for the Bruins. How bad was it? One stat tells you all you need to know about the team’s defensive effort.

As crazy as it is to say, that stat is not even as bad as the reality behind it. The Aggies amassed all of those yards on the ground before the game even reached the fourth quarter. At the time of this writing, Texas A&M has 344 yards on the ground with more than a quarter to play.

Given that the Aggies have a big lead and will likely be running on essentially every play, that total only figures to grow before the game’s end.
