Cowboys’ starting guard Connor Williams out for season with torn ACL

Starting left guard Connor Williams has been lost for the season due to a torn ACL suffered on Thanksgiving Day, ESPN’s Todd Archer reports.

Williams injured his right knee during the second quarter. He then attempted to come back and played for one series in the second half before being pulled for the remainder of the game.

The Cowboys selected Williams in the second round (No. 50 overall) during the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas. He started 10 games last year and 11 this year, missing one game following arthroscopic knee surgery (left knee) earlier this year.

Needless to say, he’s a key player and the Cowboys will be hard pressed to replace him.
