Cowboys not interested in Dolphins DB Minkah Fitzpatrick

The undefeated Dallas Cowboys will play host to a league-worst Miami Dolphins team this coming Sunday. Dallas is actually favored by nearly three touchdowns against a squad that has been outscored 102-10 in its first two games.

The backdrop here is Dallas’ reported interest in second-year Dolphins defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, who the Dolphins granted permission to seek a trade last week.

In need of help at both slot corner and free safety, the Cowboys seem to be an ideal landing spot for the former top-11 pick.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards. In talking about the trade market without mentioning Fitzpatrick’s name, Cowboys front office head Stephen Jones threw that idea out the window.

Dallas gave up a first-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for Amari Cooper a year ago next month. The team seemingly isn’t willing to do this for a second consecutive year.

Miami’s asking price is said to be at least a first-round pick. Though, countering reports indicate that the team would settle for a second-rounder.

If the Dolphins were to lower their asking price, Dallas might become a viable landing spot for Fitzpatrick. Until then, it doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
