The Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Utah State Aggies provided college football fans with a thriller on Friday night and one stunning play decided it all in the final moments.

A thrilling six-play drive that started at Wake Forest’s 11-yard line all built up to one play with 74 seconds remaining on fourth down. Demon Deacons quarterback Jamie Newman threw up a prayer to wide receiver Kendall Hinton in the end zone and he came down with it for the go-ahead score.

The play is made even crazier considering Hinton is just a few seasons removed from being Wake Forest’s starting quarterback. Just four seasons after he made some impressive throws, the senior came down with a game-winning catch for the best moment in his career.

It’s a huge comeback win for the Demon Deacons and could be the start of a big year for Newman. Between Hinton and sophomore wide receiver Sage Surratt, who posted a team-high 158 receiving yards, Wake Forest possesses plenty of weapons to have an explosive offense in 2019.
