Nick Saban Alabama

The Citadel rolled into Alabama this week as a massive underdog and with expectations of being utterly thrashed by the nation’s top football program. Surprisingly, it didn’t start out that way for the Crimson Tide.

The Bulldogs started the game with the ball and they ate up more than seven minutes as they marched into Alabama’s territory and made it to the 39-yard line before they were forced to punt.

Alabama’s drive on offense even hit a few hurdles. Twice on the drive the Crimson Tide faced third-and-long and required some big plays from Tua Tagovailoa to keep the drive alive. Finally, with less than four minutes left in the quarter, Alabama found the end zone and its first lead of the game.

Twitter made sure to take part in the mockery as Alabama struggled in the first quarter against a four-win team.
