Mississippi State Bulldogs wide receiver Malik Heath is reportedly recovering and out of surgery after a serious car accident on Thursday night.

Danny P. Smith of The Starkville Daily News first reported news of the accident. Heath, a Jackson, Mississippi native, suited up for the Bulldogs in the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-3 wide receiver took part in Mississippi State’s senior night ceremonies before the game and was among the team’s top receiving leaders during the 2021 regular season.

Genespage’s Steve Robertson, Mississippi State’s 247 Sports site, reported that Heath underwent surgery last night and is recovering. While an official update hasn’t been provided by the school, Heath is expected to make a full recovery.

The accident reportedly happened in Starkville, Mississippi. No additional information is currently available.
