The Houston Astros selected Cody Deason, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Arizona, in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
Deason, a Southern California native, grew up as a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston’s opponent in the 2017 World Series.
After being drafted, he had a funny take on the matter.
#Astros fifth-round pick Cody Deason: "I was a Dodgers fan and, as of about three hours ago, I am an Astros fan. That was heartbreaking to see last year. But now I look back on it and say 'Wow, this is the greatest thing that's ever happened.'"

It’s safe to say that this kid knows where his future paychecks will be coming from. It’s also a nice way to make nice with your new fan base.
