Coach K ‘very concerned,’ shares Zion Williamson has ‘mild knee sprain’

Less than a minute into the marquee matchup between Duke and North Carolina Wednesday night, a freak accident led to an injury for Zion Williamson.

Williamson’s left foot literally exploded out of his shoe, which came apart at the seams as he attempted to make a sudden cut to his right.

Everyone in the sports world watching the game had a strong reaction to this freaky incident.

But thankfully, it appears Williamson has escaped a significant knee injury based on what Duke head coach Mike Krzyewski said.

It remains to be seen how long Williamson will remain out as he rehabs this knee injury. Heck, nobody should really be surprised if he ends up just preparing for the 2019 NBA Draft after that scare. But the fact that his knee is “stable,” per Coach K, is a very positive sign that his knee is going to be in good shape sooner, rather than later.
