Cincinnati Bengals Sticking with Andy Dalton: “He’s Our Guy”

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton finished his fourth season with his fourth consecutive playoff loss. On whether the Bengals may try to bring in some quarterback competition either via the free agency or the NFL draft, it doesn’t appear have plans to do that (via NFL.com).

He’s our guy,” offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said. “and we’re not going to shy away from that. He was better with the intangibles this year and the ball was better coming out of his hand. You could see that right away when he came back from the last offseason.”

While Dalton does have four consecutive one-and-done’s in the playoffs, it appears the Bengals are not done with him.  We can probably give Dalton a “hall pass” from his last loss where key offensive players A.J. Green, Tyler Eifert, Jermaine Gresham and Marvin Jones were absent from play.

Fast-forwarding ahead, should Dalton suffer a fifth playoff loss, he’ll become the first quarterback to start his career with five consecutive postseason losses.
