The Cincinnati Bengals are signing cornerback Eli Apple, NFL Network reported Tuesday.

The former first-round draft pick was released by the Carolina Panthers in October after injuries limited him to just 28 defensive snaps in two games in 2020.

Apple, 25, has played in 57 games (48 starts) with the New York Giants (2016-18), New Orleans Saints (2018-19) and Panthers, tallying 237 tackles, three interceptions and 33 passes defensed.

The Giants selected him with the No. 10 overall pick in 2016 out of Ohio State. They traded him to the Saints for a couple of draft picks in October 2018.
