In tragic news this morning, former NFL running back Cierre Wood and his girlfriend were both arrested in a Las Vegas hospital for child abuse after her daughter, age five, passed away.

Christopher Redfearn of FOX 5 in Las Vegas shared Wood’s mug shot and shared the terrible details of this incident.

The child who passed away was the daughter of Wood’s girlfriend, Amy Taylor. Police were called to the hospital after the young girl passed away. Wood and Taylor are scheduled in court Thursday morning for a hearing regarding first-degree child abuse charges, per Melissa Hudson of ABC 57.

Wood went undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2013 and spent time with the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills, along with three stops in the CFL. He had five carries for 12 yards playing at the NFL level.
