Chiefs’ Derrick Nnadi celebrated Super Bowl win by paying every dog’s adoption fee at KC shelter

Some people celebrate winning the Super Bowl with the biggest cheeseburger known to mankind. Others, like Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, choose to give back.

After the Chiefs stunned the San Francisco 49ers with a comeback victory in Super Bowl LIV, Nnadi celebrated by paying for the adoptions of all the dogs at a Kansas City shelter, the KC Pet Project.

The KC Pet Project shared the following message on Facebook after Nnadi and the Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV.

Nnadi has had a partnership through his foundation with the KC Pet Project throughout the season.

“Kansas City is on cloud nine this morning with last night’s win and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Derrick Nnadi on this wonderful initiative,” Tori Fugate, the chief communications officer at Kansas City Campus for Animal Care, said, per ABC News.

After the Super Bowl, Nnadi himself shared that sponsoring the adoptions is “The perfect way to cap off this great season!!”

Though he’s a monster on the gridiron, Nnadi is clearly a big teddy bear with a huge heart off the field.
