Chiefs bring Knile Davis back after trading him away

Just weeks after trading running back Knile Davis to the Green Bay Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs have brought him back into the fold.

Davis’ circuitous route back to Kansas City could be considered a minor odyssey of sorts. The Packers, less than two weeks after trading for the running back, released him after he rushed for five yards on five carries, despite the fact they have a tremendous deficit at the running back position.

Then Davis landed in New York with the Jets, only to be released literally hours later as the team opted to sign C.J. Spiller in his stead.¬†And now he’s headed back to where it all began, re-joining the Chiefs, who just put Jamaal Charles on injured reserve after he had knee surgery.

Traveling expenses aside, this was quite a mental journey Davis underwent. To be moved around like an expendable chess piece must have taken somewhat of a toll on the young man’s emotions.

Thankfully he’s landed back on familiar ground. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens next for Davis and the Chiefs.
