The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Lance Lynn on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right knee inflammation and recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte.

Lynn, whose IL move is retroactive to Sunday, is 10-4 with a 2.59 ERA in 24 starts with 152 strikeouts in 135 2/3 innings.

The 34-year-old has helped the White Sox to the top spot in the American League Central with a 76-56 record and a 10-game lead on the Cleveland Indians before the start of play Tuesday.

In 284 career outings (260 starts), Lynn is 114-75 with a 3.49 ERA in 10 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2011-15, 2017), Minnesota Twins (2018), New York Yankees (2018), Texas Rangers (2019-20) and White Sox.

Mendick, 27, was batting .217 with two home runs and 20 RBIs over 66 games for the White Sox earlier this season. In parts of three major league seasons with the club, he is batting .238 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs.
