The Chicago Cubs placed outfielder Jake Marisnick on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.

Marisnick left Sunday’s game in the first inning of a 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 30-year-old hopes some rest will help heal the hamstring that’s been bothering him for some time.

“A couple weeks it’s kind of been a little tight,” Marisnick said Tuesday. “Finally got to the point where I felt it kind of snag there a little bit. It’s definitely frustrating, but like I said, to have a full season to be able to fully rehab this thing, get it back to where I need to be, it’s going to be good.”

Marisnick is hitting .264 with four home runs and 14 RBIs in 27 games for the Cubs this season.

The Cubs recalled left-handed reliever Brad Wieck from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. The 29-year-old has appeared in one game for the Cubs this season, throwing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts on April 12 at Milwaukee.
