Boston Celtics rookie point guard Payton Pritchard will miss around two weeks after sustaining a Grade 1 MCL strain of his right knee, the team announced Saturday.

Teammate Jaylen Brown fell on Pritchard’s leg in the loss at Philadelphia on Friday night, causing Pritchard to need assistance leaving the court.

Pritchard has been impressive thus far in his rookie season out of Oregon. He is averaging 7.7 points per game on nearly 43 percent shooting from downtown while seeing a ton of action during Kemba Walker’s absence to start the season.

Walker has since returned to the lineup, and Boston will now look to veteran Jeff Teague to play the majority of the backup minutes at point guard while Pritchard recovers. Pritchard is expected to return to on-court activities in approximately two weeks.
