The Carolina Panthers acquired kicker Ryan Santoso from the New York Giants on Thursday for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022.

The Giants were actively shopping Santoso, who had a strong training camp but was unlikely to unseat starter Graham Gano.

Panthers incumbent Joey Slye has struggled this offseason, prompting Carolina to sign Dominik Eberle on Tuesday. Eberle was released on Thursday.

Santoso, who celebrated his 26th birthday Thursday, appeared in three games for the Tennessee Titans in 2019. He averaged 59.9 yards on 17 kickoffs with nine touchbacks, but did not attempt a field goal or extra point.

The Panthers will owe the Giants a 2022 seventh-rounder if Santoso is on Carolina’s roster for at least two regular season games.
