The Carolina Hurricanes agreed Sunday to a one-year, two-way contract with forward Stefan Noesen.

The deal will pay Noesen $750,000 at the NHL level and $250,000 at the AHL level with a $300,000 guarantee.

The 28-year-old skated in six games last season with the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs.

He has 54 points (31 goals, 23 assists) and 122 penalty minutes in 205 career games with the Anaheim Ducks (2015-17), New Jersey Devils (2017-19), Pittsburgh Penguins (2019), Sharks (2019-21) and Maple Leafs (2021).

“Stefan is a veteran forward who plays a high-energy game,” Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said in a news release. “We’re excited to add him to our organization.

Noesen set career highs with 13 goals and 14 assists in 72 games with the Devils in 2017-18. The Texas native was a first-round pick (21st overall) by the Ottawa Senators in 2011.
