The suddenly free-falling Arizona Cardinals will now be without running back Chris Johnson for at least the next eight weeks.
Arizona reportedly placed Johnson on injured reserve on Tuesday with a groin injury.

What exactly this means for the Cardinals remains to be seen. The 31-year-old former rushing champ played at a high level for Arizona last season, putting up 872 yards in 11 games before succumbing to injury.
He began this year as David Johnson’s primary back at running back, tallying a grand total of 95 yards in four games.
With the older Johnson now out for at least the next eight weeks, Andre Ellington will likely be the team’s primary backup from here on out.
