The career of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Alex Reyes has taken another unfortunate turn after he was pulled from his first start in nearly two years with an injury.
On Wednesday, it was announced that he’ll likely miss the remainder of 2018 after surgery to his right lat.
Reyes has unfortunately become all too familiar with the DL in his young career. He missed all of 2017 and the first two months of 2018 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery in February of 2017.
While he’s already spent a great deal of time on the DL in his career, it’s important to note that Reyes will be 25 when the 2019 season opens up. So, there’s still plenty of time for him to get his career going in the direction we all thought it would when he was one of the game’s top prospects.
