Capitals re-sign forward Brett Leason to 2-year, $1.55M deal

The Washington Capitals re-signed forward Brett Leason to a two-year, $1.55 million contract.

The one-way deal announced Monday will pay him $750,000 next season and $800,000 in 2023-24.

Leason, 23, posted three goals and three assists in 36 games as a rookie with the Capitals last season.

He added 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 31 games with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

The Capitals selected Leason with a second-round pick (56th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft.
