Instead of using dynamite to destroy the once legendary home of the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants, crews responsible for tearing it down Candlestick Park are doing so piece by piece.
It’s also creating what has to be considered a sad scene in south San Francisco.
For those of us who have had the pleasure of witnessing some iconic games at Candlestick Park, these are disturbing images.
The old stadium became obsolete when the San Francisco 49ers moved into Levi’s Stadium this past season. With the Giants also in “new” digs, there’s no reason to keep this stadium standing. However, that doesn’t make it any easier.
