Cam Newton makes it clear he wants to remain with the Panthers in 2020

The Carolina Panthers have a huge decision to make concerning quarterback Cam Newton, who has been rumored to be on the trade block this offseason.

If Newton has anything to say about his future, though, he’s clearly not interested in moving away from the team that drafted him. Speaking with Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller of SiriusXM NFL Radio Friday, Newton said he does not have any interest in playing for another team and called Carolina his “home.”

The Panthers will have an entirely different look and feel next season thanks to the hire of former Baylor head coach Matt Rhule. An offensive-minded coach, he has the track record to help Newton get back to being an elite playmaker.

Even better, Rhule has hinted he hopes to keep the quarterback in Carolina next season.

But if there’s anything we’ve learned about the NFL and its rumor mill it’s that you cannot trust anything anyone says during lying season. And every team aside from the two set to compete in the Super Bowl finds itself right smack dab in the middle of it with the draft just months away.
