Calgary Flames acquire Nikita Zadorov from Chicago Blackhawks

The Calgary Flames acquired defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Zadorov, a restricted free agent, recorded eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 55 games with the Blackhawks last season. The 26-year-old Russian was traded to Chicago from the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 10, 2020.

Zadorov, who is listed at 6-feet-6 and 235 pounds, has collected 83 points (23 goals, 60 assists) in 411 career games with the Buffalo Sabres, Avalanche and Blackhawks. He was selected by the Sabres with the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
