There were some in Western New York who simply believed the Buffalo Bills would not select Wyoming quarterback Josh in the first round of April’s 2018 NFL Draft.
We can include Ryan Gates, a producer for WGR-550 in Buffalo, into that group. Immediately prior to the draft, Gates noted that he would quit his job if the Bills did indeed select Allen over either Josh Rosen or Baker Mayfield with the seventh pick.
I just on the air that I'll quit if they draft Allen with Rosen or Mayfield on the board

Ultimately, the Bills would take the inaccurate small school quarterback — pretty much to the shock of everyone around the football world. Rosen ended up going No. 10 overall to the Arizona Cardinals.
But there’s a twist here regarding Gates and the Allen selection. He’s fulfilling his end of the bargain. The producer’s final day WGR-550 will be Friday. He did indeed quit.
I'm expecting to remain active during Bills and Sabres season, possibly creating a podcast for WGR, and some other ideas that I have cooking.
Thanks to everyone who listened to me ramble, I will continue to do so, just in different ways.

Here’s a man that’s certainly true to his word. Unfortunately, the Bills’ unpopular decision took a pretty popular figure off the airwaves in Buffalo. Guess that’s part of the trickle-down effect here.
Ouch.
