Buccaneers’ QB Jameis Winston hires a new agent

As he prepares to return from a three-game suspension, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has opted to hire a new agent.

It comes in the form of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment head honcho Joel Segal, who is known as a big time power player within the industry.

Segal represents fellow Buccaneers teammates DeSean Jackson, Carlton Davis and Kendell Beckwith. Within the larger confines of the NFL, his agency represents 25 Pro Bowlers. That includes Chicago Bears star Khalil Mack.

Having been suspended for the first three games of the season following assault allegations being levied his way, Winston will now attempt to repair his image. In addition to providing normal agent services, Lagardère Sports and Entertainment will help act as a PR guide for the embattled young quarterback.

Winston, the No. 1 overall pick back in 2015, is unlikely to regain his starting job once he returns following Tampa Bay’s Monday Night Football outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Instead, it looks like Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain under center.

He’s also facing a civil lawsuit from the Uber driver who accused him of assault stemming from an alleged incident in Arizona back in 2016.
