Week 6 of the college football season kicked off Saturday with the Maryland Terrapins battling the Ohio State Buckeyes. The game went off with few surprises, as the Buckeyes handled the Terrapins with ease in a 37-17 defeat.
Basketball fans may have also noticed Bryce James, the youngest son of LeBron James, in attendance during the Buckeyes’ latest win. James was on an unofficial visit to Ohio State, taking in the competitive atmosphere of a Buckeyes game along with his mom, Savannah.
Knowing members of the James family were in attendance, or perhaps just paying homage to a Cleveland icon, Buckeyes All-Big Ten receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. even borrowed a celebration from LeBron James after scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
While it’s possible he was there purely to enjoy the game, Bryce James was seen speaking with Ohio State’s men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann. James, who’s set to be part of the 2025 recruiting class, is currently viewed as a three-star prospect, according to 247 Sports. Other ranking systems, like ESPN, have James listed as a four-star recruit.
While he still has time to grow, the 16-year-old is already 6-foot-6 and plays small forward, just like his dad. James is currently enrolled at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. He’s also spent time at Sierra Canyon School and Campbell Hall.
His older brother, Bronny, is currently enrolled at USC and is doing “extremely well” after going into cardiac arrest during a team workout in July. Bronny remains hopeful that he can play for the Trojans this season.
Meanwhile, LeBron is set for his 21st season and is now the oldest player in the NBA.
