Bryce Harper placed on paternity leave to be with wife as she delivers their son

Bryce Harper did not travel with the Philadelphia Phillies for their weekend series against the Miami Marlins. Instead, Harper was placed on paternity leave so he could be at home in Henderson, Nevada, with his wife Kayla as she prepares to give birth to their son.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Harper can remain on paternity leave for three days. He was temporarily replaced by Maikel Franco, who was bumped up from Triple-A on Friday.

We wish the Harper family nothing but the best as they eagerly await the arrival of a precious baby boy.
