Bryan Abell of Michigan, a 23-year-old ROTC cadet, broke the Guinness World Record for most burpees in a day with a total of 4,689 in a 12-hour period.

According to MLive.com, Abell wanted to “raise money and awareness for active and retired soldiers and their families” through the foundation he started with his sister, the Stronger Warrior Foundation. The goal of this foundation, per the website, is to “improve our nations warriors that are in need financially, physically, and mentally.”

Here’s a short video of Abell putting in the work to achieve this astonishing record.

His stated goal was to raise $4,500, but according to WXYZ Detroit, the effort yielded just $1,300.
