Bruce Irvin jokes about requesting punt return duties against former teammate Marquette King

Bruce Irvin

Bruce Irvin and Marquette King used to be teammates when both played for the Oakland Raiders. After being released (allegedly because he and Jon Gruden have beef), King wasted little time signing with AFC West rival, the Denver Broncos.

King made it clear after signing with Denver that revenge had at least something to do with his new home.

“I just wanted to find the best place that I thought I would fit,” King said during a conference call with reporters (h/t Broncos Wire). “I think there is somewhat of a revenge factor in there, too. It’s a mixture of some of everything.”

Needless to say, King isn’t the only one circling the date when these teams meet up again. Irvin took to Twitter on Tuesday with some funny stuff about requesting permission to return punts against Denver.

And apparently, if he did get into the game against King, something crazy might go down, based on his next tweet.

It should be a blast when King and the Raiders reunite. They’ll do it twice in 2018, and every year after that as division rivals.
