Browns respond to Jermaine Whitehead’s troubling social media posts

Cleveland Browns defensive back Jermaine Whitehead took to social media following Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.

To say that it was a bad look would be an understatement. In fact, we’re simply going to link the posts that included Whitehead threatening fans who criticized his play in the game (read here if you want).

Whitehead’s Twitter account was suspended after the threatening posts. He then took to Instagram to continue the argument.

After getting winds of the posts, the Browns themselves released a statement on social media. It was a pretty strong-worded condemnation.

The Browns’ PR department did shut down media availability with Whitehead shortly after the game. They knew something was amiss. However, the posts he sent to fans were done with the fourth-year safety still in uniform.

We’re obviously going to have a lot more on this story as it develops. For now, it seems that Whitehead’s job with the Browns is not safe.
