Browns RB Kareem Hunt undergoes sports hernia surgery

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will next see the field during the team’s Week 10 game.

Hunt, who is suspended for the first eight games of the regular season, just underwent sports hernia surgery and will not play in the preseason finale Thursday night.

As noted, this won’t impact his status once the former Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowler is eligible to come off the suspended list.

Cleveland received a lot of push back for signing Hunt following an altercation with a woman at a hotel back in February of 2018. That came after Kansas City released Hunt outright.

A third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2017, Hunt put up 1,782 total yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie before being released the following season.
