The Cleveland Browns officially signed quarterback Josh Rosen to a contract on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the Browns, however multiple media outlets reported it was a one-year contract.

Also on Friday, the Browns placed wide receiver David Bell on the active/physically unable to perform list and signed fourth-round pick Perrion Winfrey to a four-year rookie contract.

Rosen is joining the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback depth chart as the team prepares for the likelihood that Deshaun Watson will be suspended for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

The No. 10 overall draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, Rosen was traded to the Miami Dolphins following Arizona’s selection of Kyler Murray the following year.

Rosen split 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad and the San Francisco 49ers’ active roster, though he never saw game action. He was with the Atlanta Falcons in 2021 and got into four games in relief of then-starter Matt Ryan.

The 25-year-old has thrown for 2,864 yards with 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in 24 career games (16 starts). He is 3-13 as a starter.

The Browns reportedly worked out quarterback A.J. McCarron on Thursday as they sought contingency plans if the NFL suspends Watson for multiple games. Cleveland previously signed former NFL starter Jacoby Brissett. He would be No. 1 if Watson is erased from the depth chart for any period of time, general manager Andrew Berry said earlier this month. Josh Dobbs is the third quarterback on the roster entering camp.

Watson met with league investigators for three days in Delaware in late June to discuss allegations of sexual misconduct. Pro Football Talk reported a multi-game suspension was likely but not more than eight games.

Watson, acquired by the Browns from the Houston Texans for multiple draft picks, reportedly could agree not to appeal if the NFL opts against a season-long suspension. Two dozen massage therapists in Texas accused him of sexual misconduct, but two Texas grand juries declined to indict him.

Although he has denied doing anything wrong, Watson has settled 20 of the 24 civil lawsuits filed against him.

Bell, 21, is a nursing a foot injury. He was selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Purdue.

He is eligible to return from the PUP list at any point during training camp. He has to either come off prior to the final roster cutdown in September or remain there through the first six weeks of the regular season.

Winfrey, 21, was the last of the team’s nine draft picks to sign a contract.

The defensive tackle recorded 42 tackles, six sacks and one forced fumble in 23 career games at Oklahoma.
