The Brooklyn Nets will be without star point guard Kyrie Irving for Saturday night’s Game 7 showdown against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.

Head coach Steve Nash confirmed Friday that Irving will miss his third straight game in the Eastern Conference second-round series with a sprained right ankle.

Nash said Irving “still has some miles to make up” in his recovery but anticipates the veteran will return if the Nets are able to advance.

“It is not a season-threatening situation,” Nash said.

Irving did not travel with the team for Game 6 on Thursday in Milwaukee, where the Bucks forced the deciding game with a 104-89 victory.

Irving, 29, injured the ankle in the second quarter of Brooklyn’s 107-96 loss in Game 4 on June 10. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the series.
