The Dallas Cowboys added a bit of thunder to their running back room when they selected Alabama’s Bo Scarbrough in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys already have their bell-cow back in Ezekiel Elliott. And that’s not going to change any time soon barring an injury or off-field issues coming up.
That said, Scarbrough is hoping Elliott won’t pull a Ben Roethlisberger on him and wants Zeke to take him under his wing. He believes that the two of them can become a legendary duo.
“We coming in, work together. We trying to win, we trying to be the best duo that ever came through in NFL history,” Scarbrough told TMZ Sports.
Scarbrough was a risky prospect, based on his struggles with health in college and due to the fact he never did win the starting job at Alabama. But landing him late in the draft minimized that risk to the point where Dallas really could have gotten a steal with the pick.
If Scarbrough does stay healthy, there’s no doubt he and Elliott can wreak some havoc on the league. That said, they have a long, long way to go before anyone will recognize them as the NFL’s best duo.
